At TWINE we use CBD isolate to create pure CBD products that are THC free. As you shop CBD for sale or buy CBD oil online, you will see terms like full spectrum CBD, broad spectrum CBD and CBD isolate. What exactly do the mean and what are the differences?

Full Spectrum CBD Oil

Full spectrum CBD refers to a hemp extract that keeps all the compounds found in hemp intact which includes CBD along with all the terpenes and other cannabinoids that are naturally found in hemp. This means full spectrum CBD contains THC in small amounts that could be enough to put a consumer at risk to fail a drug test.

Broad Spectrum CBD Oil

All broad spectrum CBD starts out as full spectrum CBD, but the goal is to remove THC while keeping all of the other terpenes and cannabinoids intact. This is accomplished through different extraction and refinement processes, and these processes determine the level of THC left behind. Broad spectrum CBD can be a safer option for consumers who are required to take drug tests because the level of THC is usually below the level of detection.

CBD Isolate

CBD isolate is a white crystalline powder that is isolated from the other cannabinoids and terpenes. CBD isolate allows consumers to know exactly how much CBD they’re getting in their CBD oil, CBD creams and pet CBD products. Is there a difference in CBD oil and Hemp oil?

Is there a difference in hemp oil and CBD oil? CBD oil is an oil that contains the compound CBD derived from the hemp plant. Hemp oil unfortunately is a term that is often used incorrectly to confuse the consumer. Hemp oil can refer to hemp seed oil that does not contain any CBD, which comes from the flowers and leaves of the hemp plant, and usually is much cheaper than CBD oil. In some cases hemp oil may be referring to oil that contains hemp extract, but it is important to check the ingredients to know how much CBD is in the hemp oil. Many times these oils are referred to as phytocannabinoid rich hemp oil.

Hemp provides 100% natural CBD, but there is some confusion about the hemp plant and how it is different from marijuana. Both plants come from the cannabis family and they look similar but have different properties and uses. The hemp plant has high levels of CBD and low levels of THC, a compound with psychoactive properties that “get you high”. Hemp has many industrial uses and has been cultivated for centuries to make rope and twine, but more importantly the 2018 Farm Bill legalized hemp and popular hemp products such as CBD, CBD oil, CBD creams and topicals, CBD pet oil, CBD pet treats and many other CBD products.
