Does pain keep you from being your healthiest self?

According to the Arthritis Foundation, approximately 54 million adults and 300,000 children in the U.S. are diagnosed with arthritis or other joint diseases associated with pain and stiffness. The keyword here is “diagnosed” because as the AF suggests, the actual number suffering from such pain and limited movement may be closer to 91 million considering those who haven’t sought medical attention and resolve to simply live with their discomfort.
The most restrictive and often debilitating symptoms of these conditions include pain, stiffness, limited joint movement and inflammation which can be severe and worsen overtime not to mention affect sleep and daily stress levels. Frustrating is the process of trial and error trying to find the right medication or treatment to address the pain without complicating the situation with side effects often more detrimental than the pain itself.
As a result, arthritis sufferers and medical professionals are constantly searching for natural alternatives. CBD, or cannabidiol, has re-emerged in such circles and on-going research is promising.
Research on CBD has been lacking due to the fact that until the December 2018 Farm Bill, most of the CBD in the market was a by-product of marijuana. Thankfully, this bill made CBD derived from hemp (a distant cousin to marijuana but distinctly different plant in the Cannabis family of plants) legal in all 50 states, thus the deluge of news media around CBD and its potential benefits for a variety of uses. This news may be new, but the benefits of botanical CBD have been documented for centuries. In the U.S., cannabis was widely utilized as a patent medicine during the 19th and early 20th centuries, described in the United States Pharmacopoeia for the first time in 1850.
I can personally attest to the hopelessness and frustration of discomfort. My mom mentioned CBD and suggested I try it. After a week and a dropperful of CBD oil under my tongue daily, I followed my mom’s advice to start low and go slow with how much CBD oil to take and landed on the right amount for me. CBD was a game-changer and I wanted to tell the world. Only problem was CBD was difficult to find and even harder to understand.
A couple months later I partnered with a friend who shared a similar experience with CBD, and we set out to develop our own brand of the highest quality 99% pure, organic CBD products made exclusively from hemp grown, cultivated, processed and bottled in the USA. We wanted to be a part of the process from seed to shelf to ensure quality and effectiveness. We visited hemp farms across the country, toured extraction and bottling facilities, researched independent labs to provide pharmaceutical level testing. We wanted NO THC (the intoxicating compound found in marijuana and to some extent in most hemp) and we knew we had to take our extractions the next level to isolate the CBD for our products. No pesticides or other contaminants were other things we insisted on.
A little over a year since we launched our brand TWINE CBD oils and topical creams, we believe more than ever in the effectiveness of CBD. It’s not just our word any more…it’s the emails and letters and calls we keep getting from others like us who gave CBD a try.
