Family Traditions
Dec 21st 2023
Family traditions can have a lasting positive impact on you and your loved ones. They are important because they help make memories, strengthen family bonds, provide consistency, and give you something to look forward to. One of our favorite family traditions is cutting down our Christmas tree.
This is a tradition that we started as a couple and then continued once we had children. At first dad had to cut the tree, but now the boys do the cutting and make it a contest of how fast they can cut it down. The last few years we haven’t been able to include everyone, but we still keep the consistency of the tradition. We video call or send photos to the family members who cannot be there. We look forward to continuing this tradition and making memories for years to come as our family grows with new spouses, and grandchildren!
Consistency is beneficial for both physical and mental health. Routines provide a sense of stability and healthier habits. Whether it's exercising regularly, eating a balanced diet, or practicing good hygiene, repeated behaviors over time become habits that contribute to better physical health. CBD is another good addition to your daily routine to relieve common problems that hinder our daily well-being like stress, lack of sleep, and discomfort and swelling that limit our mobility. However, allow for flexibility as being overly rigid in routines can lead to unwanted stress.
Traditions are something to be passed on from generation to generation and they make your family unique. They remind you of what is truly important, like your values and your loved ones, and they can positively influence well-being. Time spent together can create stress-relievers and opportunities for relaxation, or even involve activities that promote physical health like outdoor games, hikes, and sports. While family traditions alone may not guarantee improved health, they can play an important role in promoting health within the family.
Keep your family healthy and continue making lasting memories by bringing your loved ones together for family traditions. And when circumstances change, or loved ones pass away, continuing traditions allows those loved ones to live on in your heart. Even simple things can make the biggest impact and become the most significant and cherished memories, creating a family tradition.
